HDPE is a highly crystalline non-polar thermoplastic resin produced through
the copolymerization of ethylene and a small amount of α-olefin monomer. HDPE is synthesized under low pressure and is therefore also called
low-pressure polyethylene. HDPE is mainly a linear molecular structure and
has little branching. It has a high degree of crystallization and high density. It
can withstand high temperatures and has good rigidity and mechanical
strength and anti-chemical corrosion. Sinopec produces a full grade of HDPE, which cover all fields of HDPE applications, including film, blow-molding, extrusion molding, injection molding, pipes, wire & cable and base material for
producing chlorinated polyethylene.
HDPE is an environmentally friendly material that can be recycled when
heated to the melting point. Note that plastic materials can be divided into
two main categories: "Thermoplastic" and "Thermosetting", "Thermosetting
plastic" is heated to a certain temperature and becomes a solidified state, even
if continued heating cannot change its state, therefore, the product with
environmental protection problems are "Thermosetting plastic" products (such
as tires), Are not "thermoplastic" products (e.g. plastic pallet note: pallet is
called "plywood" in Hong Kong and Macau), so not all "plastic" is not
environmentally friendly.
Application
HDPE is suitable for many plastic molding methods. Blow molding can be used
for making various types of bottles, cans and industrial tanks and barrels.
Injection molding is used for making various containers and goods of daily use, such as basins, barrels and baskets and furniture. Extrusion molding is used
for making pipes, strapping tapes, fibers and single filaments and can also be
used for making wires & cables covering materials and synthetic paper. After a
large amount of inorganic filler is added, HDPE can also be used as an
alternative to timber and cardboards for making calcium plastic packing
containers, furniture, doors and windows.
● Film Grade
Over the past eight years, Asia Pacific has been the largest consumer region
for HDPE, increasing its market share from 33% to 44%. In the future, Asia will
continue to grow strongly, while eastern Europe and the Middle East will
continue to recover. The north American and Western European markets are
growing again after falling prices. In the next few years, North America will
create an amazing story beyond imagination.
HDPE film grade is widely used in the production of T-shirt bags, shopping
bags, food bags, garbage bags, packaging bags, industrial lining and
multilayer film. In recent years, the resin has been increasingly used in
beverage and medicine packaging, hot filling packaging and fresh produce
packaging. The resin can also be used in the production of anti-seepage film
used in hydraulic engineering.Blow Molding Grade

jacket through fast-extrusion methods.
LDPE
Low-density
Polyethylene
Product Introduction
Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is a synthetic resin using a high pressure
process via free radical polymerization of ethylene and is therefore also called
high-pressure polyethylene, which been industrialized for more than 70
years. It is suitable for being used in all types of thermoplastic processing
processes, such as injection molding, extrusion molding, blow molding, rotomolding, coating, foaming, thermoforming, hot-jet welding and thermal
welding.
Since its molecular chain has many long and short branches, LDPE is less
crystalline than high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and its density is lower. It
features light, flexible, good freezing resistance and impact resistance. LDPE
is chemically stable. It has good resistance to acids (except strongly oxidizing
acids), alkali, salt, excellent electrical insulation properties. Its vapor
penetration rate is low. LDPE has high fluidity and good processability.
LDPE is one of the most commonly used plastics in our life. Its excellent
processability, flexibility and transparency make it a material for
transparent films, wire sheaths, and diverse wraps.
Product Performance
LDPE has the following characteristics:
● Cold resistance, low temperature and high temperature resistance. Thicker
film can withstand the sterilization process of soaking in 90℃ hot water.
● The film is milky white transparent and soft. The strength is lower than
HDPE, and the impact strength is higher than HDPE.
● LDPE has a large air permeability, so when used as easily oxidized food
packaging, the storage period of its contents should not be too long.
● Long period of UV and heat will be aging, affecting its physical properties
and dielectric properties.
Application
LDPE is principally used for making films. It is widely used in the production of
agricultural film (mulching film and shed film), packaging film (for use in
packing candies, vegetables and frozen food), blown film for packaging liquid
(for use in packaging milk, soy sauce, juice, bean curds and soy milk), heavy-duty packaging bags, shrinkage packaging film, elastic film, lining film, building- use film, general-purpose industrial packaging film and food bags. LDPE is also widely used in the production of wire & cable insulation sheath. Cross-linked LDPE is the main material used in the insulation layer of
high-voltage cables. LDPE is also used in the production of injection-molded
products (such as artificial flowers, medical instruments, medicine and food
packaging material) and extrusion-molded tubes, plates, wire & cable coatings
and profiled plastic products. LDPE is also used for making blow-molded
hollow products such as containers for holding food, medicine, cosmetics and
chemical products, and tanks.
● Film Grade
LDPE film grade is principally used in the production of blow- molding
packaging film, agricultural film and can be blended with linear low-density
polyethylene (LLDPE) to produce modified PE. In addition, it can be used for
heat shrinkable packaging film, laminated film, freezing film, medical
packaging, multi-layer co-extrusion film, heavy-duty packaging film, pipe
coatings, cable sheathing, lining and high-end chemical foaming.
Plastic film plays a huge role in industry, agriculture and other fields, and has
become an indispensable part of production and life. LDPE is mainly used for
film products, such as agricultural film, ground covering film, agricultural film, vegetable greenhouse film, etc. Packaging film such as candy, vegetables,
frozen food packaging; Liquid packaging with blow film (milk, soy sauce, juice,
tofu, soy milk); Heavy packaging bag, shrink packaging film, elastic film, lining
film; Construction film, general industrial packaging film and food bags, etc. In
2017, the consumption of film/thin slice was the most, accounting for 48.7%; It
is expected that thin film/thin sheet will remain the largest consumption
segment in the future, and the proportion of thin film/thin sheet consumption
may rise slightly to about 49% in 2040.
● Injection Molding Grade
LDPE Injection-molding grade is principally used for producing civil detonators, pipes, plates, fruit net bags, traffic guardrails, small- sized injection-molding
products (the inner part of a bottle cup) and powdered coating. Packaging
materials for medical devices, medicines and food, extruded pipes and plates, wire and cable cladding, profiles, thermal forming products, etc. Blow molding
hollow molding products, such as food containers dairy products and jam, medicine, cosmetics, chemical products containers, tanks, etc.
● Coating Grade

bags, sofa, balls and car ornaments. In addition, it can be used for melt coating
in expressway and railway isolation fences, municipality-use guardrails and
chemical equipment for anticorrosion purposes. With the development of
technologies for making high and medium-end, high-value-added synthetic
leather using ultra-fine fiber, LDPE artificial flower grade is now also being
used in the production of ultra-fine fiber-derived synthetic leather.

LLDPE
Linear low-density
Polyethylene
Product Introduction
Linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) is a copolymer produced by
polymerization of ethylene and α-olefin (such as butene-1, hexene-1) at low
pressure. It is low and medium density polyethylene with short chains
branching. LLDPE has a narrow molecular weight distribution.
With high strength and processabillity LLDPE is used for the various
applications such as Lamination, Food Packaging, Stretch film, Hood
packaging, Shrinkage film, Heavy duty, Agriculture etc.
Product Performance
The LLDPE polymer produced by the copolymerization process has a
narrower molecular weight distribution than general LDPE, and at the same
time has a linear structure that makes it have different rheological properties. The melt flow characteristics of LLDPE meet the requirements of new
processes, especially with film extrusion process, which can produce
high-quality LLDPE products. LLDPE is used in all of the traditional markets for
polyethylene and has enhanced tensile, penetration, impact and tear
resistance properties. Its excellent resistance to environmental stress cracking,
low temperature impact resistance and warpage resistance make LLDPE
attractive for pipe, sheet extrusion and all molding applications. The latest
application of LLDPE is as a mulch for landfills and linings for waste ponds.
Application
LLDPE is mainly used for making film, pipes, injection-molding products, blow-molding containers, rotationally-molding products and wire & cable
covering material. Anti-leakage mulch is a newly developed LLDPE market. Mulch, a large extruded sheet used as landfill and waste pool liners to prevent
seepage or contamination of surrounding areas.
Some of the film markets for LLDPE, such as the production of bags, garbage
bags, elastic packaging, industrial liners, towel liners and shopping bags, take
advantage of this resin's improved strength and toughness. Penetration
resistance and stiffness of LDPE films without significantly affecting film clarity.
Injection molding and rotational molding are the two largest molding
applications for LLDPE. The resin's superior toughness and low temperature,
impact strength are ideal for waste bins, toys and refrigerated appliances. In
addition, LLDPE's high resistance to environmental stress cracking makes it
suitable for injection molded lids that come into contact with oily foods, rotomolded waste containers, fuel tanks, and chemical tanks. The market for
applications in pipe and wire and cable coatings is smaller, where the high
burst strength and environmental stress crack resistance offered by LLDPE
suffice. 65%~70% of LLDPE is used to make films.
● Film Grade
LLDPE film grade can be used to make films such as agricultural film and
mulching film, packaging bags of daily use, garbage bags, container lining, coatings and agricultural small-caliber drainage pipes.
● Injection Molding Grade
LLDPE injection-molding grade is principally used for making household
articles, such as plastic barrels, reusable plastic containers and large injection-molded. It can also be used to make color master batches and other
functioning master batches.
● Rotomolding Grade
LLDPE rotomolding grade is mainly used for making rotomolded products,
large-sized outdoor toys, storage tanks, roadblocks, etc.

PP
Polypropylene
Product Introduction
Polypropylene(PP), one of the most commonly used plastics, is a synthetic
resin made by polymerizing propylene. Its types vary depending on its
properties and processing methods. Its excellent tensile strength and impact
strength make it widely used in multiple areas, including films, textiles, automotive parts, and more.
Product Performance
PP is a synthetic resin made by polymerization of propylene (CH3—CH=CH2)
with H2 as the molecular weight modifier. There are three stereomers of PP–
isotactic, atactic and syndiotactic. PP contains no polar groups and has
excellent electrical insulation properties. Its water absorption rate is less than
0.01%. PP is a semi-crystalline polymer with good chemical stability. It is
stable to most chemical except strong oxidizers. Inorganic acid, alkali and salt
solutions have almost no damaging effect on PP. PP has good heat resistance
and low density. Its melting point is at around 165 ℃ . It has high tensile
strength and surface hardness and good environmental stress crack
resistance. It can withstand 120℃ continuously.
● Chemical Resistance
Diluted bases and acids don't react readily with polypropylene, which makes it
a good choice for containers of such liquids, such as cleaning agents, first-aid
products, and more.
● Elasticity and Toughness
Polypropylene will act with elasticity over a certain range of deflection (like all
materials), but it will also experience plastic deformation early on in the
deformation process, so it is generally considered a "tough" material. Toughness is an engineering term which is defined as a material's ability to
deform (plastically, not elastically) without breaking.
● Fatigue Resistance
Polypropylene retains its shape after a lot of torsion, bending, and/or flexing. This property is especially valuable for making living hinges.
Insulation: polypropylene has a very high resistance to electricity and is very
useful for electronic components.
● Transmissivity
Although Polypropylene can be made transparent, it is normally produced to
be naturally opaque in color. Polypropylene can be used for applications where
some transfer of light is important or where it is of aesthetic value. If high
transmissivity is desired then plastics like Acrylic or Polycarbonate are better
choices.
Polypropylene is classified as a "thermoplastic" (as opposed to "thermoset")
material which has to do with the way the plastic responds to heat. Thermoplastic materials become liquid at their melting point (roughly 130
degrees Celsius in the case of polypropylene). A major useful attribute about
thermoplastics is that they can be heated to their melting point, cooled, and
reheated again without significant degradation. Instead of burning,
thermoplastics like polypropylene liquefy, which allows them to be easily
injection molded and then subsequently recycled. By contrast, thermoset
plastics can only be heated once (typically during the injection molding
process). The first heating causes thermoset materials to set (similar to a
2-part epoxy) resulting in a chemical change that cannot be reversed. If you
tried to heat a thermoset plastic to a high temperature a second time it would
simply burn. This characteristic makes thermoset materials poor candidates for
recycling.
Application
PP has a variety of applications. It is suitable for multiple processing methods
such as injection molding, extrusion molding and blow molding and is widely
used in the textile, packaging, electrical household appliances, automobile and
real estate industries.

PVC
Polyvinyl Chloride
Product Introduction
PVC used to be the world's largest production of general-purpose plastics and
it has a wide range of applications. Its properties such as robustness or
durability can be changed as necessary according to the types of additives
mixed during the processing process. PVC is extensively used in building
materials, industrial products, daily necessities, floor leather, floor tiles, artificial leather, pipes, wires and cables, packaging films, bottles, foaming
materials, sealing materials, fibers, etc.
Application
PVC is extensively used in a variety of areas from construction materials to
household commodities.
● Pipe
Among many PVC products, PVC pipes are one of the largest consumption
area, accounting for about 20% of its consumption. PVC pipes are developed
earlier than PE pipes and PP pipes, with more varieties, excellent performance, and a wide range of applications, and occupy an important position in the
market.
● Film
PVC film accounts for about 10% of the consumption of PVC. After PVC is
mixed with additives and plasticized, a three-roll or four-roll calendar is used to make a transparent or colored film with a specified thickness. The film is
processed in this way to become a calendered film. It can also be cut and
heat-sealed to process packaging bags, raincoats, tablecloths, curtains,
inflatable toys, etc. The wide transparent film can be used for greenhouses, plastic greenhouses, and mulch films. The bi-axially stretched film has the
characteristics of heat shrinkage, which can be used for shrink packaging.
● Packaging Materials
PVC are mainly used for packaging in various containers, films, and rigid
sheets. PVC containers mainly produce bottles of mineral water, beverages, and cosmetics, as well as packaging for refined oil. PVC film can be used to
co-extrude with other polymers to produce low-cost laminates and transparent
products with good barrier properties. PVC film can also be used for stretch or
heat shrink packaging for packaging mattresses, cloth, toys, and industrial
goods.
● Consumer Goods
Luggage bags are traditional products made by the processing of PVC. PVC is
used to make various imitation leathers, which are used in luggage bags and
sports products such as basketball, football, and rugby. It can also be used to
make belts for uniforms and special protective equipment. PVC fabrics for
clothing are generally absorbent fabrics (no need to be coated), such as
ponchos, baby pants, imitation leather jackets, and various rain boots. PVC is
used in many sports and entertainment products, such as toys, records, and
sports goods. PVC toys and sports goods have a large growth rate. They have
an advantage due to their low production cost and easy molding.
● Coated products
Artificial leather with backing is made by coating PVC paste on cloth or paper, and then plasticizing it at a temperature above 100°C. It can also be formed
by calendering PVC and additives into a film and then pressing it with the
substrate. Artificial leather without a substrate is directly calendered by a
calendar into a soft sheet of a certain thickness, and then the pattern can be
pressed. Artificial leather can be used to make suitcases, purses, book covers, sofas, and car cushions, etc., as well as floor leather, used as floor coverings
for buildings.
● Hard materials and plates
Stabilizers, lubricants, and fillers are added to PVC. After mixing, the extruder
can be used to extrude hard pipes, special-shaped pipes, and corrugated
pipes of various calibers, which can be used as sewer pipes, drinking water
pipes, wire casings, or staircase handrails. The calendered sheets are
overlapped and hot-pressed to make hard plates of various thicknesses. The
plate can be cut into the required shape, and then welded with hot air with a
PVC welding rod to form various chemical resistant storage tanks, air ducts, and containers.
● General soft product
The extruder can be used to squeeze into hoses, cables, wires, etc.; the
injection molding machine can be used with various molds to make plastic
sandals, shoe soles, slippers, toys, auto parts, etc.
● Siding and floor
PVC wall panels are mainly used to replace aluminum wall panels. Except for
a part of PVC resin, the other components of PVC floor tiles are recycled
materials, adhesives, fillers, and other components. They are mainly used on
the ground of airport terminal buildings and other hard ground.
